Why the preparation is the job
Anyone can put paint on a wall. The difference between a house that still looks good in eight years and one that starts peeling in two is almost entirely what happens before the first top coat goes on.
That is where every Paintcom job starts. We inspect the existing coating and the condition of your surfaces first — checking for paint compatibility, flaking, water staining, mould, and the gaps, dents and nail holes that need filling. Then we protect your home, prepare properly, and finish with two coats of a premium system matched to the surface.
You get a free on-site inspection, a written fixed-scope quote, and a walkthrough before we call the job done.

What customers say about Paintcom
Residential painting: common questions
How much does it cost to paint a house in Sydney?
It depends on the size of the home, the condition of the existing surfaces, and how much preparation is needed — a sound wall and a flaking one are very different jobs. That is exactly why we inspect on site before quoting rather than pricing over the phone. The inspection is free, and once the scope is agreed in writing the price is fixed.
Do you paint interiors and exteriors?
Both, and often together. Interior work covers walls, ceilings, cornices, doors, skirting and architraves. Exterior covers render, weatherboard, fibro, brick, eaves, fascias, gutters, garage doors and Colorbond fencing.
What paint do you use?
Premium products from Dulux, Wattyl and Taubmans, selected to suit the surface and the conditions. The right system is what prevents peeling and premature failure, so we match the product to the job rather than using one paint for everything.
Can I stay in the house while you paint?
Yes, in most cases. We stage the work room by room or elevation by elevation, protect your floors and furniture, and keep the site tidy so the house stays liveable while we are there.
Is the quote fixed?
Yes. Once the scope is agreed in writing, the price is fixed. The only time it changes is if you ask for additional work that was not in the original quote.
What happens if something needs touching up afterwards?
We do not call a job complete until you have walked through it with us and we have handled any touch-ups. If something related to our workmanship shows up after the paint has fully cured, you call Peter and he comes back to fix it.
