Why the preparation is the job
An industrial wall does not fail because the colour was wrong. It fails because a domestic-grade paint was put somewhere that gets knocked by pallets, hosed down weekly, or exposed to heat and fumes.
Light industrial work is a specification problem before it is a painting problem. We look at what the surface actually has to survive — traffic, washdown, moisture, abrasion — and specify a system that holds up, rather than the cheapest product that covers.
We work around production wherever possible, sectioning the work so the facility keeps running, and we keep the site tidy because in an operating warehouse an untidy site is a safety problem.

Light industrial — what we do
Warehouse and factory operators, industrial landlords, and facility managers responsible for keeping a working building presentable and compliant.
Warehouse interiors
Walls, structural steel, columns and internal partitions in coatings that take knocks and washdown.
Factory and production areas
Surfaces specified for the heat, moisture and cleaning regime they actually face.
Industrial units
Unit interiors and exteriors, roller doors, and office areas inside industrial buildings.
Line marking and safety
Safety colours and demarcation where the site needs them as part of the repaint.
Heavy-duty systems
Premium coatings selected for abrasion, moisture and chemical exposure, not domestic products.
Work around production
Sectioned and staged so the facility keeps operating while the repaint progresses.

What customers say about Paintcom
Light industrial: common questions
What makes industrial painting different from commercial?
The specification. Industrial surfaces face traffic, washdown, abrasion, moisture and sometimes heat or chemicals, so the coating has to be selected for that exposure. A good office paint fails quickly in a warehouse.
Can you work while the facility is operating?
In most cases yes. We section the work so production continues, and we agree the sequence and any access restrictions with the site manager before we start.
Do you paint structural steel?
Yes — internal structural steel, columns and framing are common in warehouse repaints, prepared and coated to suit the environment.
What kind of preparation does an industrial surface need?
More than a domestic one, usually. Existing coatings are checked for adhesion and compatibility, contaminated or failing areas are cleaned back, and primers are selected for the substrate rather than assumed.
Is this heavy industrial work?
No — this is light industrial: warehouses, factories, industrial units and their office areas. Heavy industrial process plant and tank lining are specialist work outside what we take on.
